Muninark exists because of a pattern every mature software company knows: the product outlives the people who understood it. This page is the short version of why we build what we build, and how we hold ourselves to it.
01 · THE PROBLEM
Knowledge walks out the door
A mature product carries more knowledge than any document captures. Why a decision went one way. What was tried and abandoned. Which workaround became permanent, and who understands which corner of the system. Most of it lives in people, and it leaves with them.
02 · THE ORIGIN
Built independent, from day one
The idea came from watching that pattern up close: a long-lived product, decades of accumulated decisions, a shrinking group of people who remembered them. The founding decision was independence. The architecture assumes nothing about any particular company, and the ingestion layer takes whatever record an organization keeps.
03 · THE STANDARD
We talk the way the product answers
Muninark refuses to answer when its evidence is insufficient, and we hold our own claims to the same standard. No invented customers, no inflated numbers. What you read on this site is what the platform is built to do, stated plainly.
The name
Muninn
OLD NORSE · MEMORY
One of Odin's two ravens. Each day it flew out over the world and returned with word of everything that had happened, so nothing would be forgotten.
Ark
A VESSEL
Built to carry something through time, and to keep it intact while everything around it changes.
The raven in our logo is Muninn, doing the job it was named for.
